Its hardness and chemical stability are similar to transparent glass ceramics, but it has better thermal insulation properties, making it widely used in chemical reactors, insulating glass in buildings, electric meteorological instruments, and bulletproof glass.
3. Opaque Glass Ceramics
Opaque glass ceramics refer to materials that are not transparent, thus limiting their applications. Their main use is in applications requiring no surface breakage and high surface flatness under high temperatures or corrosive gases. They are not suitable for stress-concentrated components, and are therefore commonly used in industrial furnaces, high-temperature pipelines, electronic devices, and plastics processing.
